Carpentry, doors & trim

Doors, closets, baseboards and trim are some of the most visible parts of the finished space. We install them with careful layout and consistent detailing.

Typical scope

What this can include

The final scope is based on existing conditions, access, selections and the work confirmed in your estimate. We separate known work from optional items so the project starts with a clear baseline.

  • Interior doors
  • Closet openings
  • Casings and baseboards
  • Blocking and backing
  • Hardware installation
  • Caulking and paint preparation
How we plan it

Sequence before speed.

We begin with the space as it exists, confirm the requested result and identify the work that must happen behind the visible finish. Demolition, framing, rough-ins, substrate preparation and installation are organized in the order the project requires.

Throughout construction, progress questions and changes stay tied to the written scope. The final stage is a documented walkthrough for remaining touch-ups and closeout items.

Working sequence

How the scope moves forward.

  1. 01Measure openings and review existing alignment
  2. 02Confirm profiles, hardware and finish expectations
  3. 03Prepare backing, jambs and adjoining surfaces
  4. 04Install and adjust components
  5. 05Complete detailing and paint preparation
Pricing clarity

What can affect the investment.

Doors and trim expose small alignment differences. Accurate measurements, suitable backing and clear finish expectations help the completed details read consistently from room to room.

  • Number and condition of openings
  • Door type and hardware
  • Trim profile and material
  • Wall or floor irregularities
  • Stain-grade versus paint-grade finishing
Common questions

Plan the next conversation.

Insured and WSIB covered for accountable project delivery.
01Can you replace doors without replacing every jamb?

Sometimes. The opening, jamb condition, hinge locations and desired fit must be checked to determine whether a slab replacement is suitable.

02Is painting included with trim installation?

Only when listed. Installation, caulking, filling, priming and finish painting should be separated clearly in the estimate.
